The Role Model

                           The Role Model

Everyone has role models. For example, my mother's role model is Elizabeth Elliot, an amazing Christian woman who served as missionary. I have 2 role models: Tori Kelly, and Melanie Wilbur. (Don't worry, I have more than two role models)

Tori Kelly is one of my role models because she loves Jesus with all her heart, and she has the most amazing voice. When I first started seeing Tori Kelly as my role model, I was in second grade. The movie Sing had just come out, and that was my favorite movie. So, for the talent show at my school, I performed Don't You Worry 'Bout a Thing. I started listening to more of her songs, and then I started to research about her. And now, I know many of her songs, and I love her even more.

Now, Melanie Wilbur is a Christian author that wrote one of my favorite series: The Seeking Heart series. After I read those books, I prayed each night to become more like Amber, who is the main character of the series. I've e-mailed Melanie a few times, and I've read her blog, as well. She's inspired me with her books to share God's word, and to be a strong woman of God.

So these are just two of my role models, but I have many more.  Another one of my role models is my mom. I love her, and she loves me, and she encourages me to seek into the kingdom of God.

An Amazing Life

Ever had a time in your life where everything is awesome? If you haven't, don't worry, it'll come soon. But, if you have, isn't it wonderful? Although it doesn't happen all the time, I've had multiple moments like this. To be honest, I've had a moment like this recently

We live in apartments, so my mom always said, "When we get a house or land, we can have a dog." She isn't really a pet-person, but she knows my dad has always wanted a dog. She also said, "If we ever do get a dog, it has to be small and quiet."

I never thought it would happen, but I was proved wrong.

My mom's friend had had a surprise litter of puppies, and they had around 12 dogs in the house. Yes, when I heard that to I was like, "WHAT?!?!" Well, my mom and dad saw a picture of two of the puppies. They were brothers, and the only two left. My dad immediately looked at my mom and said, "Get her to send a video of them." So, she did. And they were ADORABLE. My dad then said, " Ask her if she still has them." And this was the beginning.

A few days later, my mom asked her friend if one of them was still available. She said yes. Of course, I didn't know this until about Saturday morning.

When we found out we were getting a dog, we immediately started thinking of names. At first, we were going to name if George Washington Feeny. I know, it's hilarious name. But then, my mom said, "Let's get to know him first, then we can name him. You don't know what personality he has yet." And so, we waited.

The next day, we went to meet the lady, and to get our new puppy. He was only 9 weeks old when we got him.

On the way home, we stopped to eat. Then my mom said, "His name should be Bruiser, because he looks like a tough guy." And that's how he got his name.

I never thought this would happen, but it did. Those wonderful moments will continue to happen, but not all at once.

Clubs, Clubs, Clubs

                        Clubs, Clubs, Clubs

2020 wasn't the best year. However, some people made the best of it.

Before school was canceled, I was a part of many clubs. I was the Student Council Vice President, a member of the Junior Beta Club, and that was my fourth year in Talented Music. I enjoyed being in clubs because I got to use some of my leadership skills for the clubs. As a mater of fact, one of our ideas from Student Council (which I will talk more about later), was used for this year.

This year I have also taken more leadership roles and joined another club. This year, I am Student Council President, Junior Beta Chaplin, my fifth year in talented music, and I am also apart of the book club at my school.

To start, I got the Student Council President because the president left our school and went on to 7th grade. We were in class one day, and my mother, (who is the sponsor for Student Council) pulled me out into the hall and told me that I had become the President of the club because we did not hold elections due to COVID-19. The other vice president also moved on to 7th grade. Now, remember that idea that I was talking about at the beginning? Well, that came from one meeting from last year (my 5th grade year when I was VP). The idea was called "Sunshine Cart." The idea of the Sunshine Cart was to reward teachers on Fridays by giving them some snacks and a drink. And this year, our principal made it happen.

The second topic is Junior Beta. Only 6th graders are allowed to be officers, so I was ready to become one. However, I was going to be the Historian. My mom had already told me I should be the Chaplin, but I didn't want to. But, that all changed. One day in class, me and a friend were talking about what we should run for. "Bella, you should be the God-person." This shocked me, because my friend isn't a Christian. I immediately took it into consideration. That night I told my mom that I, Bella, was going to be Junior Beta Chaplin. We held elections, and I won the spot of Junior Beta Chaplin!

Now, time for talented music. I've been with my talented music teacher for 5 years, because I came to my school in second grade. We've worked on many musical things, such as singing, piano, cello, and ukulele. I've enjoyed all the things my music teacher and I have done, and he really has helped me learn more about music.

Lastly, book club. I LOVE reading, so this is an AMAZING club to be in. Book club was only for the 6th graders, so this club is one of the things I have looked forward to coming into my 6th grade year.

I enjoy each and every club I am in, and I hope that my decisions will leave a impact on my school.

Memories from Quarantine

Let's just face it: EVERYONE hates Coronavirus. No one likes to wear masks, social distance, or even put on SO much hand sanitizer. Sometimes, I just want to give my friends a big bear hug. My dad said the same words over and over again, so much so when he said them, I ran out of the room. Those words were, "I don't know."

But, this Coronavirus chaos has taught me something: Even through the rough times, we have to make the best out of it. One night, we had a "pizzeria" at home. We all dressed up fancy, and had pizza. Afterwards, we watched the Disney movie, Onward

Also during the quarantine, me and my brother played music together. It was kind of funny because he was just learning to play the bass, and I was just learning to play the cello. We practiced until our hands hurt, and practiced until we had it pretty good. That night, we played for my grandparents over FaceTime, and they loved it.

To sum it up, quarantine had its ups and downs, but we all made the best out of it.
